The  chief  of the Islamist sect  found  clear  fault    for days of  hostility  in  north  Nigeria has been shot and  murdered  while in  police officer  custody,  representatives  said Thursday.
The police officer commander of Borno state advertised on state broadcasting that Mohammed Yusuf, the chief of the sect some call the Nigerian Taliban, has “died in police officer custody.”

He granted no farther elucidation, but the state governor’s spokesperson Usman Ciroma advised The Associated Press: “I observed his body at police officer headquarters. I trust he was shot while he was attempting to escape.”

Yusuf’s death could provoke more hostility, though his followers in the Boko Haram sect may be in disarray after forces bombarded his join concurrently in the north habitation of Maiduguri on Wednesday. Yusuf, 39, supervised to elude with about 300 followers, some of them armed. His deputy, Bukar Shekau, was murdered in the assault, as showed by Army commander Maj. Gen. Saleh Maina.

Pakistan tribesman has formed their own force to challenge the Taleban, and has pledged to force the latter out from their strongholds. The force comprises of more than hundreds of tribesmen fighters. After several battles with the Taleban militants, the tribesmen were able to drive the former out from their strongholds. However, the victory came with a heavy price. Taleban militants are now targeting tribal areas, for instance, a local mosque was bombed by Taleban militants that killed 38 people.

The government encourages local tribesmen to initiated their own tribal forces to deal with Taleban threats. Indeed, it is a good news for the government that local tribes are actually fighting alongside with the army. With the supports from local tribes, it definitely help in the restrain of Taleban activities in Pakistan.

The number of civilians suffering in the midst of fighting between the Pakistani army and the Taleban now totalled to a shocking 1.5 million. Mainly gathered in the northwestern area, the people are dire of basic needs such as medical aids. The UN has now urged the help from international community, hoping to generate enough funds to sustain the living of the civilians in Pakistan.

As US forces continue to drive Taliban militants to Afghanistan boundaries, there is an immediate concern that more militants might cross into Pakistan region. With such problem ahead, it could bring further destabilisation into Pakistan.

In the attempt to retaliate against the Pakistani government, the Taleban militants have resolved to the use of suicide bombers. Several suicide bombings that were carried out had led to immerse casualties, involving both Pakistani troops as well as local civilians. In the recent suicide attack reported in Peshawar, northwestern region of Pakistan, a Taleban suicide bomber crashed a car loaded with explosives into a military vehicle. In the event, officials claimed that at least four soldiers have been killed.

As the investigation is still ongoing, no active party has claimed to be responsible for the attack. The most probable attacker has been thought to be the Taleban, which is relatively active in the region.

A missile attack has been launched along the northwestern region of Pakistan, where the Taleban base is situated. The party who initiated the attack is not known, however, many suspected it to be of another drone attack deployed by the US military. The exact number of casualties could not be confirmed, while the latest report put it at 3 deaths.

It has been known that US drone attacks has often sparked the uproar of local Pakistani leaders, pointing to the fact it involved the lives of many innocent civilians killed in such events. In addition, some leaders have even deemed it as a challenge to the sovereignty of Pakistan.

To date, US military officials have yet response to the speculations of possible missile attack launched by US drone.

Having created much turmoil to the overall peace in Pakistan, the Taleban is determined to destroy whatever that stands in their way. The Taleban has long been known to be crude in their demands, citing many instances whereby they resolved to suicide bombings.

Yet, another suicide bomb attack has taken place in the town of Khyber agency, which involved a local mosque. Many have been injured by the blast, while rescuers are still in the verge of confirming the total death toll. Initial reports have put the number of death at three.

Pakistani government is putting in every effort to secure the Khyber region from falling into hands to the Taleban. Security measures are expected to be tighten in the near future to prevent such attack from repeating.

Thirty-three militants killed by combined US-Afghan forces

Taleban militants that scatter across Afghanistan have been plotting to disrupt the peace of the country wherever opportunity arises. However, the US and local Afghan forces have reaffirmed that tight securities are in place should such attacks take place. This has been tested when the US-Afghan joint patrol force encountered a recent attack by the militants.

According to officials, the joint patrol force which comprised of both US and Afghan personnels had been attacked by militants while patrolling along the Helmand region. Upon accessing the situation, the force responded by returning fires and successfully took down 30 militants. In another province, three militants were reported to have been killed by another patrol team. Success from both attacks have increased the total number of militants killed by another 33.
