Recent action by the Jewish Israeli right-wingers has outraged the Israeli-Arab community. Apparently, the former has outwardly marched into the town where the Israeli-Arab community resides, giving rise to the clash between both parties. According to police officials who were involved in the clash, the Israeli-Arab community felt a sense of racism when the right-wingers marched into their town waving Israeli flag.

The clash eventually broke out with a few Israel-Arab youngsters attacking the police with rocks. The situation was chaotic when more people joined in the attack. The police was only able to resolve the situation after adopting the use of tear gas and water cannon to drive away enraged protestants.

The march by the right-wingers have sparked much uproar by Israeli-Arab leaders. Such action has been deemed as an outward challenge to the Israeli-Arab, declaring to the nation of their intolerance towards the minority.

Clashes and conflicts between the two parties could become a norm if common understanding is not in place.

Attacks continue despite mutual agreement

Despite mutual agreement made between the two parties to end the three-weeks long Gaza conflict, both sides continue to exchange fire. Repeatedly, there have been reports of Palestinian militants directing their fires along Israeli territories. To date, reports claimed that a total of five rockets have been launched by the Palestinian militants over the border into Israeli regions.

Among the five rockets being fired, one have hit a local school in the southern city of Ashkelon and another on an open ground respectively. Of all rocket launched, none have caused any casualties. Many other smaller scale conflicts between both sides have broke out since then.

Since unilateral ceasefires have been initiated between Israelis and Palestinian in mid-January, both parties continue to exchange fire despite the agreement. In a recent air strike launched by the Israeli, one Palestinian was killed and another wounded. The attack took place near the town of Khan Younis, south of Gaza.

According to Palestinian security officials, the men were hit by fire from an Israeli drone while travelling on a motorcycle. One of the men belongs to the militant group – the Popular Resistance Committees. The attack took place just hours after Hamas officials announced possible ceasefires between the two parties in another few days.

Israeli military claimed that the air strike was launched after Gaza fired two rockets into Israel.

Israeli army has launched another air strike on southern Gaza Strip, in the town of Rafah. The attack aimed to destroy gunmen, believed to be militants from the Popular Resistance Committee, who had previously fired two mortar bombs that landed in Israel. The strike killed a Palestinian, injuring at least another three others.

This recent attack marks the end of the unilateral ceasefires that both sides had agreed on in an attempt to end the devastating 22-day offensive in Gaza where more than 1,300 Palestinians were killed. Palestinian representatives have expressed interest in reaching a long-term ceasefire in Gaza, though the attack has broken the previous ceasefire agreement.
