The explosion happened in a marketplace close to the city of Baquba in Iraq. There were 15 or more people killed in the explosion of the car bombing. Another 40 were injured.

The bomb was set off close by a mosque in Abu Sayda. It is a village that consist of mostly Shia and is located around 45 miles on the north side of Baghdad, the capital of Iraq.

According to police, the explosion resulted in buildings falling down. There were both women and children wounded in the explosion.

The city of Baquba has experienced quite a few assaults lately.

A curfew has been put into action in Abu Sayda by the officials. They are concerned there could be more explosives in the area.

An oil tanker turned over in blew up in Congo on Friday afternoon. There is reported to be at least 230 people that died in the explosion and as many as 190 injured.

The truck turned over when it was trying to pass a bus in Sange which is located int the South Kivu province and the eastern border of Congo.

Oil started leaking out from the tank. People of the area were trying to gather the oil up in containers. Someone was smoking a cigarette which is what caused the explosion.

A group of people who had been at a bar located close to the accident while watching the World Cup suffered the most casualties.

A few of the injured were treated in the villages around the area of the accident. Most of the injured were transported to Uvira, Omalanga a town close by.

The driver was able to escape.

On Wednesday, during the changing of the shift workers at a Colombia mine, there was an explosion.

As of Friday, 18 people have perished due to the blast.

It happened about 11.45 ET. The San Fernando mine is located in the north western part of Colombia, in the city of Amaga.

At this time there are still 53 miners that are still unable to be located. Another one is being treated for burns.

The funeral for the first of the miners was on Friday.

People are loosing hope as the hours pass and no sign of miners being brought up alive out of the mine.

One lady, Dora Sanchez mentioned to a TV station how her husband had not wanted to go to his job that day.

“We felt a very strong explosion,” miner Edgar Herrera told Caracol. “It left us … stunned, deaf.”

Because the blast happened during a time of a shift change, there were more workers around the mine they there is at other times.

The authorities have had to stop looking for survivors for now due to a build up of gas. To keep looking could put others lives at risk.

An explosion in a mine in Turkey has entrapped at least 30 mine workers beneath the ground. They are saying it could take 4 days or more to reach them.

The workers were working in  the Karadon mine located in the Black Sea province of Zonguldak when the explosion happened on Monday. It is believed that methane gas exploded and caused the cavern to fall in.

Rescuers have gone through over 2000 meters of an underground cavern attempting to get to where the men are trapped.

They are saying that they need 4 additional days to get through the next 20 meters. The rescue crew is finding large sections of stones the size of automobiles and that is why it is taking so long.

As family members wait for any sign of life, hope slowly fades with each passing day. Experts on mine rescues have stated that there is not much of a chance that anyone will come out alive.

After the blast  happened on Monday, there were 8 workers who were trapped in a lift that were rescued.

Ambulances are waiting at the mine, ready to transport any survivors.

Beijing – Seventeen workers were killed and six miners were trapped underground early Monday after an outburst of coal and gas at a coal mine in southwest China’s Yunnan Province, local authorities said.

The miners were working in a shaft of Malishu Coal Mine in Shuangbai County, Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture when the accident happened at about 1:50 a.m., said the county government. Rescuers rushed to the mine at 4:00 a.m. They were still searching for the miners. Local work safety authorities were investigating the cause of the outburst.

A coal-mine explosion in the northeastern Chinese province of Heilongjiang has slaughtered 37 miners and ensnared 71, China Central Television reported on its Web site.

The explosion occurred at 2:30 a.m. at Xinxing mine where 528 miners were toiling, the State Administration of Work Safety said on its Web site. Rescue actions are below way, according to the statement.

The explosion reduced the mine’s ventilation and communication system, generating it difficult for rescue, CCTV said.

China relies on coal to generate 80 per 100 of its electricity. A coal-mine explosion in the southwestern Chinese city of Chongqing on May 30 slaughtered 30 people enlisted and another coal- mine detonation in Shanxi province on Feb. 22 withdrew 74 miners dead, according to the government.

PESHAWAR, Pakistan – A suicide bomber hit a court in Peshawar on Thursday, murdering 16 persons in the sixth strike on the northwestern town in 11 days as Pakistani armies press on with a foremost anti-Taliban offensive. BAGHDAD – Police and hospital officials say two explosions within western Iraq possess  killed at lowest 14 civilians and injured dozens.

A police official says the former explosion befallen Sunday within a parking lot alongside the police headquarters for Anbar province and the regional council constructing within the city of Ramadi.

The official says a suicide bomber onto a motorcycle otherwise blew himself up among the crowds as police arrived.

The official says 14 civilians were killed within the explosions, whilst an official at the Ramadi hospital says 14 bodies were carried towards the hospital.

Conflicting mortality tolls are ordinary within the consequence of bombings within Iraq.

Both officials spoke onto mood of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
