People Forced Out of Homes by Wildfires in California

On Wednesday, the firefighters who had been fighting the fierce wildfires on the north side of Los Angeles, prepared for the strong winds that were expected to arrive during the afternoon hours.

There had already been nearly 40 houses destroyed by the fires. About 2300 people had been relocated from their homes. Another 150 houses could be in the line of danger from the flames.

The fire started on Tuesday. It was 10 miles on the southeastern side of Tehachapi. The fire burned down 30 to 40 homes in that area. The other homes that were possibly threatened by the raging fire, 150 of them, are in the Old West Ranch community.

The fire is being fueled by dead timber from years without much rain. Drought conditions have left much dry wood in the states mountainous area.

There are around 250 firefighters battling the raging flames. They are from many different fire departments.

There are also water drops being brought in by airplanes and being dropped on the 1,230 acres of where the fire is burning relentlessly.

They are working day and night with bulldozers making fire lines and burning firebreaks.

There are more fires in other areas of the state In Kern County, a northern part of the state, another fire began on Monday in the Sequoia National Forest. It burned close to 15,600 acres. This is close to 24 miles of forest. There were 6 homes burnt down in that fire.

A seek was on Thursday evening for nine persons left missing after a Coast Guard plane collided with a Marine helicopter over the Pacific Ocean beside Southern California, agents said.

Rescuers were combing the locality where the collision appeared, aviation agents said.

A navigate described glimpsing a fireball about 7:10 p.m. beside the smash into location, which is about 25 miles east of San Clemente Island. FAA agents said a Coast Guard C-130 plane bearing seven persons collided with a Marine Corps AH-1 Cobra helicopter bearing two people.

U.S. Coast Guard Lt. Josh Nelson verified that the collision appeared and said a large release group from the Navy and Coast Guard were in the area

“We are throwing everything we can at this right now. We are looking for survivors,” Nelson said. “They have glimpsed debris is in the water.”

Weather situation were aiding the seek, he added.
“The winds are serene, the oceans are serene and we are utilising night-vision goggles,” Nelson said. “The seek situation are ideal.”

LOS ANGELES — Wildfire endangered 12,000 suburban dwellings and rained ash on vehicles as distant as downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, dispersing in all main headings in warm, dry conditions. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger advised those in the fire’s route to hear to administration and get out.

When thousands have escaped, two persons who endeavored to travel out the firestorm in a backyard warm tub were burned down. The two in Big Tujunga Canyon, on the southwestern for demonstration of the blaze, “totally underestimated the fire” and the warm tub supplied “no defence whatsoever,” Sheriff’s representative Steve Whitmore said Sunday.

Whitmore recounted their status as “critical” but blaze agents said one of the two was covered and issued and the other stayed hospitalized in steady condition. A third individual was burned Saturday in an evacuation locality along Highway 2 beside Mount Wilson, agents said. Details of that wound were not directly known.
In the state’s seaboard midsection, all evacuation instructions were hoisted Sunday after a 10-square-mile blaze burned beside the Monterey County village of Soledad. The blaze, 80 per hundred comprised, was begun by farming fireworks utilized to shock animals away from crops. The blaze decimated one home.

Around 250 injured in riot at prison of California

Los Angeles – More than 30 people were released from hospital on Sunday, August 9th, 2009, for being injured at a riot, which occured in a prison at Southern California, and caused 9 of others to be locked down.

The riot started at Saturday night, which caused 55 prisoners to be sent to the hospital, and more than 250 were injured, reported by the officials. 38 inmates were treated and would expectedly  go back to the California Institution for Men in Chino, east of Los Angeles, till Sunday, reported by George Kostyrko, Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation spokesman.

The injuries weren’t so serious, just somehow like stab wounds or slashes. One of the inmates were feeling a strong injury though, reported by Kostyrko. It’s said that there’s no life-threatening injury at all.

This riot is the biggest one since December 2006, fortunately no prison staff member got injured.

Authorities of California are concerned with the shape of the state concerning the drought.

Californian states have been experiencing really low rainfall in the past three years, which ensued in low water reserves.

Now the Government has been impelled to send a notice to all the citizens to cut down their water usage by 20% in order to survive long.
If the regulation is not being obeyed by the people it might bring risk to whole California and Government wouldn’t be left with an alternative other than to impel the citizens to use 20% less by reducing their water supplies.

Officials are taking quick measures to fix the problem but are not able to find answers.
Due to dry and cold climate the reservoirs are dry. This is the worst situation California has been in since seventeen years.

With water scarcity farmers are facing great problems in growing the crop.
Officials are guessing that the water scarcity might cause people their jobs as well, as there are no jobs to be done in neither reservoirs nor fields and many more water required places.

Potential Storm threat for the states of California

A potentially destructive storm is expected to hit the lands of Northern California in the coming week.
The storm is traveling at high speeds and is expected to make landfall by Monday on Northern California.

Many places in California have been receiving rains since few weeks which have the pressure of drought that have been pounding on them.
But this storm which is expected to spread heavy rains and dump chunks of snow might cause problems to the current situation.

Sierra Nevada Mountains will be the first land to see the colors of the snow fall, where the rains will make their mark starting from Los Angeles to San Diego.

Precautionary warnings have been given to areas which are considered to pose a threat by this storm.
After making its landfall in the North the storm is expected to travel South East into USA.

Problems save the day for California State. Floods rescue to the country which was suffering from drought problems.

California State has been experiencing number of problems due to severe drought in the country.
Very less amount of rainfall has been recorded than expected in the country since November.

These rainfalls are happily welcomed by the drought hit areas. But at the same time they are behaving as menace by inundating other places.
Los Angeles has become a victim of it. The place received heavy rainfall, with chunks of snow falling in the hilly areas.

Officials believe that this is just the start of the monsoon and stronger storms can be expected in the following few months.

Fast moving fire in Goleta forced 2000 people to leave they homes. Across the state there is 60 active fires. Government Arnold Schwarzenegger ordered 400 soldiers from California Nation Guard to help firefighters in battling fire. One volunteer firefighter have die Thursday while working as spotter. Not only people are threatened by this fire, but also animals are fighting for they lives. Deers are running in front of fire, domestic pets are also leaving they homes and some Condor chickens are lost forever. Some people have see beer, rodents, squirrels running from woods.
