Bangladesh – Bangladesh rescue team looking for more bodies on Sunday after righting an overloaded ferry that capsized in a mishap that asserted at least 37 lives. Local police confided that 21 victims were recovered from the lower deck and cottages  that had been locked as shortly as the crowded MV Coco-4 ferry overturned late on Friday. The triple-decked ferry, which had a  volume  of 665, was crammed with more than 1,000 passengers and originated  taking in water as shortly as it came into dock. Most passengers handled to swim aground or were rescued via divers who prized frank several cottages of the submerged vessel. The mishap happened on Friday circle midnight as the MV Coco-4, one of the country’s  highest inland boats, was  coming the port on Bhola island.

Bangladesh was hit with one of its worst weather threat over the week, which brought about floods and heavy rains across the country, Many whom survived from the disaster are both glad and in dismay. These people are glad that they are able to pull through despite the terrible weather challenge, however, they are equally dismay over the lost of their homes and crops. To make matter worse, the country now faces a shortage of clean water. Large amount of floodwater remains trapped and eventually becoming stagnant and polluted. Officials warned that they might be a possible increase in diarrhoea cases if the situation continues with no access to clean water.

To date, the total death toll has been placed at 200 though police deemed that there might be more victims. Recovery works are in progress, while many corpses have already been recovered with water receding progressively.

Many living in Bangladesh and India are witnessing their homes and crops being destroyed by cyclone and heavy rains. Local authority reported a shocking death toll of 200, following another 500,000 people being forced to evacuate from their homes. Aside from local civilians, the lives of thousands of rare Bengal tigers were not spared either. Many of these rare animals were caught by flood waters, after heavy rains battered their habitat.

Despite signs of storm weakening, heavy rains did not seem to relent. Heavy rains generated floods that damaged crops and caused severe landslides across both countries. Soldiers have been brought in to assist in rescue works, especially in the evacuation of people from inaccessible areas.

One killed by fire in Bangladesh’s shopping centre

On a Friday, where the streets of Dhaka were filled with shoppers spending their first day of weekend. One shopping mall was caught with a massive fire that blaze through the top floors’ offices. The fire was able to spread with the aid of windy climate, causing it much harder to be controlled. There was a point whereby windows of the offices were seemed melting due to extreme heat from the blaze.

Shoppers within the ground floor were quickly evacuated from the scene to ensure their safety before firefighters could progress with putting out the fire. Response from media states that firefighters faced difficulties in reaching higher floors, due to limitations of equipments. After much struggle, the fire eventually subsided and was able to be completely extinguished.

A security guard was said to have been killed, while 17 others were wounded. The cause of the fire remains to be investigated.

Bangladesh receives a furious cyclone called Rashmi. According to the reports Cyclone Rashmi has affected the southern part of Bangladesh the most.
2 People are reported to be dead and a lot more injured and moved to medical attention. The situation in the country is getting worse by the minute due to the cyclone.
The ferocious cyclone is resulting in power cuts, property damage and more devastation in the country.
Cyclone Rashmi, which formed in the Bay of Bengal during the middle of last week, has driven strong winds and rain over the country since Friday. It moved northeast, making landfall near Patharghata, southwest Bangladesh, during the early hours of Monday
The cyclone seems to be weakening as the winds flow away from the center of the country towards the north. But there are still faint rains and strong wind blowing through the country.
