It happened on Sunday evening at approximately 11:15pm.
An alarm was broadcasted by Australian Maritime Safety Authority as the boat went under. A nearby fishing boat along with a commercial ship answered to tha alarm. It occured approximately 350 nautical miles off the northwest area of Coco’s Islands, in the Indian Ocean near the Australian west coast .
On Monday, there were acknowledgements by the border authority going out that there were at least 18 passengers saved by other boats. They also reported that they think there were possibly 39 passengers on board.
No details of the boat or voyagers have been released by the Australian authorities.
There was also air search going on by the Royal Australian Air Force along with the customs and border air support.
