More than 50 000 people fled their homes after dam collapsed in south Nepal. So far 19 000 people have been affected by this dam collapse. Nepal is facing lack of food and health officials are now concerned about an outbreak waterborne diseases. They say 6 people have die so far. About 28 million people were affected by the floods in India, Bangladesh and Nepal last year, in which more than 400 people died.

Officials say 181 of the deaths have occurred in the eastern districts from encephalitis carried by mosquitoes breeding on the water.
