At least 15 people toiling in an illegal gold mine in western Ghana were murdered when the mine collapsed. Thirteen of those who deceased in the confidentially belongs to gold mine in Dompoase township were women, restricted police officer said.

The disaster, which representatives delineated as the country’s inferior prospecting calamity, eventuated on Tuesday when about 30 people were toiling in the mine. Police have said they dread that more bodies will be recouped from the fell mine. Ghana has large gold reserves and alongside the multinational mining companies, locals dig pits in the hopes of striking gold themselves.  While men broadly chatting do the delving it is often women who bear out the loam for sorting. Police declare they are looking into the prospect of lay-breaker negligence but that the holder of the mine was one of those killed.
