The Padma River is one of the biggest rivers in Bangladesh.
The two boats were traveling along in opposite directions when the crash happened.
There were 41 crew members on board the trawler which went under after the crash at about 6am on Oct 23rd . It was a local passenger boat that crashed into the sand trawler.
20 crew members of the trawler made it to the shoreline. Another 21 are at this time have not been located..
Rescue procedures started immediately. With the help of local people rescue attempts are on going and divers are trying to find the missing members.
There is a heavy current and the water is very deep where the ship went down. This is causing difficulty with the rescue attempt.
We can only hope for all to be found.
