There were thousands of people seeking out safe areas in close to zero visibility.
Megi is the strongest typhoon to batter the Philippines in years. It thrashed it’s way into the northern parts of the Philippines on Monday. It has been predicted to get stronger as it heads across the South China Sea today heading towards China and Vietnam.

The storm did grow weaker as it traveled over the mountains in the main island of Luzon located in the northern parts of the Philippines.
Over 4150 residents chose to stay and ride out the storm in sturdy buildings such as school, churches, town halls and homes of relatives. Roads in and out of the coastal regions of Isabela province were vacant. Many were closed by trees and power poles laying across them.
There are at least 10 people who died as a result of the storm. There were 3 men who drowned in a fishing pond, a man who rescued his water buffalo just to slip and fall into the river himself and drown.
