Train derails in Thailand
The train was traveling during the night hours. It had left the southern area of Trang state and was on it’s way to Bangkok when the wreck occured.
It occured at approximately 2150 GMT Sunday. The reason for the wreck is being investigated.
At this time, 7 passengers were found to have perished at the time of the accident. According to the head of the police at Hua Hin’s police headquaters, Col Krisna Jamsaweng, all the passengers that perished were Thais.
There were an additional 45 passengers transported to two hospitals near the accident.
The rescue team called in a truck mounted crane to enable them to remove the debris in hopes of finding survivors.
