    50,000 in south China evacuated after rains causes floods
    The heaviest rain in years in south China occurred on yesterday and causes the overflow of river and lead to a serious flooding. There are more than 50,000 people were evacuated, where 47,000 of them are from Rongshui county of Guangxi region and another 7,500 are from below Guangxi’s Kama reservoir.

    According to the country government, the reported rainfall at the Guangxi region was up to 200 mm since Wednesday. The river flooded its banks, and causes the heavy damages in farmlands and crops and some houses. There are no damages at the Guangxi’s Kama reservoir yet since the people were evacuated because of the possibility of collapse of the dam as water flow had destroyed a part of dykes, where the workers were failed to repair it.

    It is estimated about $21 million of damage from this flood and also there were earlier reported that the death of 20 people and missing of 8 people from this flood in the provinces and regions of Jiangxi, Guizhou and Guangxi, while 11 were confirmed dead there on Thursday.

    According to a report issued on Wednesday by the state flood headquarters, 95 people have been killed and 21 people were missing in flooding throughout China in the first six months of the year. The water level on some rivers reach the highest point since 1998 and this is the worst flooding in over 100 years.
