Mudslides and Flash Floods in India
In India, the monsoon season is welcomed as well as feared. The rain it brings to the dry hard ground is welcome as it helps the farmers with their crops.

The unwelcome part is the mudslides that causes houses to slide down hills and fall apart or become covered in mud. Then there are the flash floods that people drown in.

In India, over 2.9 million people since the month of June have dealt with high rushing torrents of water.

On Saturday, two towns suffered from a huge mudslide that hit their villages. One was a total disaster. Nothing was left. The other village still had parts left standing.

There are at least 43 people missing from the areas and it is dreaded that they have perished in the large mudslide.

Rescue teams have removed 15 bodies from the mud and rubble while many others could possibly have been washed into the river. They are still looking for the missing.

The monsoon season still has a while to go. It typically ends in September.
