Nocere – Earth Disasters

The rains were not the fault of the latest hurricane Ida which did pass on the east side of El Salvador. There was another low pressure system that passed through at approximately the same time.

Ground giving away and bridges falling  caused major troubles for getting to people in the town of San Vicente which has been nearly closed off.

In San Vicente, over 20 people have perished. Rescuers have found and removed bodies from homes that were destroyed. They are also finding live people and helping them get out of danger.

Jorge Melendez who is the lead person of El Salvadors civil protection agency has been noted as saying that with the amount of rainfall the numbers of people who have perished is growing, they have the number of confirmed dead from the storms as 50.

A state of emergency was called for in 5 different areas of El Salvador. They anticipate finding more bodies.
