It has also been told that there are another 10,944 inhabitants settled elsewhere in protective areas. There have been 151 safe places made available to 8,338 of the people. Many of the others have found safe refuge with family and acquaintances.
A helicopter that was rescuing stranded people crashed into the mountains on Tuesday. It fell into the river and was swept away. According to a speaker for the government, all 3 members on board the helicopter perished in the accident.
The storm has aimed it’s fury on China now killing 6 or more people and sending another 1.4 million looking for refuge.
Many have died, many are trapped, injured and many are still missing.
The rain continues, but there is hope that on Wednesday, it will start moving out of the area and rescue efforts will be more effective.
