
Thursday afternoon, Parma let loose on the Phillippines which were already soaked from prior storms. The rain fell on land that was already so fragile and wet that it gave out causing landslides.
There has been a minimum of 122 people who have lost their life in the slides. Another 22 have suffered trauma and 4 were located still alive in the mud and rubble.
Floods erupted flowing into 32 different townships and the 2 metropolises of Dagupan and Urdaneta. There were approximately 35000 people who left the area to find safety.
The places that suffered the most damage were Bayambang, Alcata and Basista according to the Phillipppines News Agency.
There were people everywhere. On the tops of their homes calling out for help and texting anyone they could. Rescue was difficult by vehicles as the waters rose up to the roof tops on one story dwellings.
Along with the massive rain fall, three dams in Pangasinan have had to let large amounts of water out. The river the dams flow into, the Agno River, is also causing flooding but the dams safety requires water to be released.
Parma had dropped at least 36 inches of rain in parts of the Phillippines.
