Since the heavy rains have started to pour in thousands of people are being displaced to safer places and are given proper shelter temporarily.
Many areas like Rio de Janeiro and Itaborai have been badly hit. Streets, Roads and every corner of these places are inundated with flood water.
The heavy floods have extended their strength of devastation in the form of land slides.
The main concern for the officials is the Paraiba do Sul River. In the past few days due to these heavy rains the water level of the river has been increasing constantly.
Officials are just hoping that it doesn’t increase beyond the limit resulting in an overflow, which is the last thing that the country needs.
Reports suggest that there will be a relief by next week with winds blowing away from the lands of Brazil. But the threat is not over yet, as this is the official rainy season for the country more problems are still to be faced.
