Students and US Soldiers Killed in Roadside Explosion

As they were traveling to the reopening of the Koto Girls High School  located in the northwestern part of Pakistan, a road side  explosion took the lives of 8 people. It has been confirmed that 3 of the dead were US soldiers.

The attack happened in the Lower Dir of the North West Frontier State. This state has been under attack many times in the last months.

The attack happened on Wednesday as they were going to the celebration of the school opening again since being repaired from an attack on it.

There were also 3 students killed in the blast.

It happened right outside the school where just minutes before there had been students out in the play area. Had it happened sooner, there would have been many more deaths.

As they searched through the debris of book bags, books and burnt automobiles for survivors, they found a student caught beneath a wall that had fell down.

The Pakistani Taliban confirmed they are responsible for the attack.

There were 70 others injured in the explosion.
