Five Taliban activists, who faithful to Pakistani Taliban chief Baitullah Mehsud was shot dead when the Pakistan security forces forayed into an apartment in the west of the city of Karachi. This action is a military operation to attack against Mehsud’s group in the South Waziristan area, on the Afghan boundary line. Besides, the security forces are also combating the activists at the Swat valley to the northwest.

City police Chief Waseem Ahmed said that the gunfight happened at the early morning of Saturday, when the security forces break in the apartment, where they detected a large amount of explosives that might have been used for suicide bombing attacks at the main town area.

Karachi is 1600 teeming port city and commercial hub of Pakistan with more than 10,000 citizenry. It’s believed that this place already long been the hotbed of crime for Taliban and al-Qaida-linked groups, where arranged bank robberies, snatches for ransom and other criminal activities always happened in order to growth their fund.

Government forces are lifting up a two-month-old campaign to boot out the Taliban from the Swat Valley area in the northwest, and are becoming their attention to a new offensive aiming Mehsud in South Waziristan, his home dominion in the tribal belt.

Terrorist training facilities and ammo dumps in Mehsud’s home village of Makeen and near Ladha were hit Saturday by artillery unit and warplanes dropping bombs, the military said in a statement. Similar attacks have affected the villages in recent days.
