The strike aimed at a Sunni Arab mosque in Tal Afar, a mostly Shiite Turkmen village in Nineveh province between the town of Mosul and the Syrian border.
It took location at round 12:30 pm (0930 GMT) on the Muslim holy day of plea and left 67 persons hurt, policeman and health agents said.
Witnesses and security agents said that after the mosque’s imam started to talk, the attacker dragged out a cannon and shot him, then set off a band full of explosives as other persons endeavored to undertake him.
