
Rescue work ongoing in China
It was reported b the Chinese media that nearly 60 people have been buried by a recent landslide in south west of China. The disaster happened in an area where an iron ore mine was located, making many to believe that the landslide could have been caused by mining activity. The believe is further supported with China’s poor safety record in mining activities.
Rescue works are now in place, with three people being found and another two dead bodies being excavated. Investigation did not reveal what has triggered the landslide, however, primary observations have shown that mining activity did not appear to be the cause.
