Burst of a huge water main in Maryland has caused flooding of cold water and left many people trapped in cars and other vehicles.
The water that is flooding the city is as cold as -7 C.
US troops are using the help of helicopters to remove the trapped people from their vehicles.
But due to the extreme coldness of the water the rescue team is also facing difficulties in going into it and rescuing the people.
However a dozen people have been rescued until now and they are being treated for hypothermia due to being exposed to -7 C water for a long time.
There has been no confirmation on what caused the burst of the 66 in water main, but as soon the burst occurred the water started flooding onto the roads of Maryland, catching the road commuters by surprise.
The rescue mission is under way and is trying their best to pull all the trapped people out.
