Nocere – Earth Disasters

Unusually heavy rains have caused havoc in Sri Lanka. Due to the heavy rains the whole place has been flooded and a lot of 370,000 have been moved from their homes to a safer place.
The city of Jaffna in the Northern Province is believed to be having suffered the most of all.
At this time of the year Sri Lankan people are used to dry weather, as the rainy season is from June to October.
The result of this heavy rain is an area of low pressure which is currently lying over the Bay of Bengal.
Reports suggest that the winds are heading North and heavy rains and breeze is expected to storm the place.
Warnings have been issued to all the Northern Province places where the rains seem to be heading.
