    Floods hit Mozambique in annual rainy season

    Mozambique is experiencing its annual raining season that usually runs from March to October. This year, thousands residing in southern Mozambique have been forced to flee from their homes with incoming floods.

    Southern coastal province of Inhambane has been the worst hit, with floods triggered several mudslides. Of these, one person has been killed by mudslide crashed down on a village. Other damages by floods include severed roads, and damaged crops and houses.

    Banks at both Caia and Morromeu along Zambezi River are threatened to burst with water reaching alert levels. Authorities have forecasted heavier rainfall to visit the areas over the next few days, while river levels would be much of their concern.
