When the group of children was having fun in a daycare centre in Mexico, never did they expect that they would become victims of a fire disaster. As many as 29 children were reported dead, with official warning that the death toll could be higher. According to police spokesman, the fire broke out in a tyre depot situated just next to the daycare centre. The fire spread fast in the presence of flammable materials, soon the daycare centre was covered by the blaze.

The effort to evacuate all the children was met with difficulties with fire spreading at a rapid rate. Most children have been brought out from the centre, however, some were trapped inside. Upon the arrival of firefighters, they responded by knocking holes in the walls to rescue children.

Desperate parents rushed to hospital for their children, while some were unable to locate their child. Rescue works started as soon as the fire was put out.

With investigation still ongoing, there are criticism that the daycare centre should not be situated in close proximity with the tyre depot.

I had just heard about this story on the news this morning. This is horrible. It also said that now 42 children had perished. I hope they are wrong.
