Queensland experiencing floods
Following a series of bushfires that caused much misery to the locals, Australia is now facing yet another flooding threat. Australian officials commented the recent floods to be the most severe over a century. Many areas in the northern and eastern regions of Australia are now experiencing heavy rains, causing water level to rise. Extreme water level accompanied by strong winds have led to flash floods, impairing roads and electricity supplies. Many have since been evacuated from designated disaster zones, and they are expected to be held in evacuation centres until severe weather conditions subside.
Though the northern and eastern regions of Australian are in the midst of floodings, the weather in the south is on the other extreme. The southern area is rather hot and dry, whereby there could be a possibility of bushfires.
Australian government is expected to bring in more manpower and resources to alleviate the effects of current situation.
