Somalia goverment againts Islamist fighters killed 43 people.

Militants attacking from the north on Wednesday reached to within a mile (2 kilometers) of the presidential place in the heart of the capital, Mogadishu

The battle between Islamist fighters and Somali government forces has murdered around 43 persons in the Somalia’s capital between Tuesday to Thursday. The government has been undertaking an attack against the insurgents for weeks and battling has lately expanded after two months lull. The Islamist fighters is battling the government but also has fight against another Islamist group called al-Shabab. The U.S. State Department saysal-Shabab has connections to al-Qaida. The failed state of Somalia has not had a functioning government for a generation. It disintegrated into clan warfare after socialist dictator Mohamed Siad Barre was overthrown in 1991. The newest battling is between a feeble U.N.-backed government and an coalition of Islamist forces, but clan loyalties are still a key of leverage on the conflict.

Another Roadside Bombing takes 12 Lives

In Afghanistan, in the Badghis province, two roadside bombs were set off. The first of the two hit a vehicle. It was a civilian vehicle and there were 10 riders that died in the explosion.

Another bomb went off soon after the first. There were two more people that perished in their vehicle.

It has not yet been made official, but there may have been a police officer killed in the second bombing.

In the central area of the town, there was a battle between activists, officers and the Isaf. The activists had buns and more exploding material.

According to the Isaf, there were 2 bombs set by suicide bombers set off close by the governor of Khost’s palace. There were 5 Isaf soldiers injured in the explosion.

The Taliban rebels have begun to use the roadside bombings in their assaults across Afghanistan. They are also marauding many cities including Kabul.

The US, Nato and Afghan forces are conducting an outstanding anti Taliban attack in the the southern state of Helmand.

This military operation is planed to be ramped up to encircling areas.

A 6 Richter scale of earthquake killed more than 50 people in Turkey.

A strong earthquake has killed at least 57 people that has struck remote villages in eastern Turkey. There are around 50 other people injured. The disaster or shake with a magnitude of 6 on the Richter scale struck in the early hours of morning, making down houses in a destruction in at least six small villages. There are two version of news about the victims, The Turkish government’s crisis center says around 100 people were injured, although other reports put the figure at 50. In one village witnesses say everything has been knocked down. Not a stone has been left in place. Emergency workers are still trying to rescue people from the debris. Authority officials say the initial quake has been followed by about 30 aftershocks. Earthquakes are frequent in Turkey, which sits on top of the north Anatolian line.

Suicide Bombings Escalate As Elections In Iraq Are Happening

Sucide bombings in Iraq as elections take place

Possibly more then 7 people have been killed and many more injured from suicide attacks in Baghdad as the polls opened for the election.

This is the first day the people have been able to come out and vote in the Iraq parliamentary election.

There was a mortar assault in a busy market place early in the day that took the lives of 7 people and injured possibly 10 others.

The first to vote in the elections are hundreds of thousands of employees of the government, people who are ill and inmates.

The first bomb went off at a voting station in Baghdad in the area of Mansion. There were 3 soldiers that died in the explosion and 15 others injured.

Less then an hour later, yet another explosion went off in the middle of Baghdad when a man blew himself up taking with him at least 4 other people and injuring 10 additional people.

A mortar was set off to hit a voting station, but missed and took at least 7 lives in a busy market place. 4 of the dead are children. There were 23 others injured.

On Wednesday, before elections had even began, there were 3 suicide bomber that went after a police and a hospital. The result of the attack is 30 people perished.

Rebels plan on causing havoc during the elections. Iraq is attempting to gain control and over come partisan divisions.

People are being restricted on their traveling during the election time. The major amount of votes will be cast on Sunday as the majority of Iraq citizens will make their way to the voting stations.

There are over 6000 people running for positions in which there is only a total of 325 openings.

Soon United States will start cutting back on the number of troops there are in Iraq and by 2011, they plan to be out of Iraq completely.

Reported Today from the Indian Capital (New Delhi) , that at least 63 person was died as a result of Stampede in Indian temple lies in North of India, The Police agents said that this Human Congestion was caused as a gate crashed and fell to the ground Today Morning.

” This accident happened in Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh state and there was more than 7,000 person in the temple ” The Officials said.

The Official of State Police, Satyabhushan Pathak added that people in that temple was starting to make Memorial Ceremony for a dead woman.

The CNN official reporter, Bhupendra Chaubey said that the Police and Authorities didn’t have prior knowledge of that assembly and for this the safety and security was absent in that gathering .

19 Die As Building In Yemen Collapses

Building collapses from explosion in Yemen

As a blast ripped through the building in Yemen, it caved in and at least 10 people inside were killed. Two of them were just innocent children.

It occurred right before daybreak in the township of Taiz.

There are conflicting stories as to what was stored in the basement. Some say there were weapons stored there and others say dynamite. The Defense Ministry of Yemen has reported that there were fireworks being kept in the basement of the building. What ever was stored in that basement made the blast a lot worse.

The blast was so big that it resulted in a building next to it that was six stories high caving in also. The a third building was also damaged.

The north and south regions of Yemen united back in 1990 after the civil war. The country of Yemen is the poorest known Arab country.

Over the past 2 years, the country has once again grown apart. There is a secessionist movement evolving in the south. They are trying to get the country to divide again into two territories.

Al-Qaeda had a small branch set up as a home site in Yemen.

In Sanaa, a peace deal was signed with a third insurgent group. The group is located in the northern regions of Yemen. They are referred to as the Houthis.

The government of Yemen has commenced busting demonstrations and charged the protesters over the last week.

On Monday, two policemen were shot down in battles with a man that they think was a secessionist bargainer of weapons in the town of Zinjibar.

Landslides in Uganda left more than 100 bodies

At the beginning of new month in Kampala, Uganda ; Nature shows unstable movement of Earth Crust.Massive Landslides destroyed many villages near Elgon Mountain and these villages are on the Uganda-Kenya Borders.

Officials in Government and Army started moving fast, The army forces joined with people to search for the missing people and it was foredoomed about 245 persons that disappeared after Monday Night’s Landslides.

State Minister for Disaster Preparedness Musa Ecweru said that these landslides were caused because of unusually heavy rain as its the third week of the annual rainy season ; The officials added that many bodies were recovered from a hospital and church as people ran their to find shelter but the hospital and church were buried under tons of mud which covered both places.

Minister Ecweru said also that the rate of death people is much higher as still crews try to go to the harmed region of vast but they still predict more rain to hit the area again, he added also that recovered bodies will be buried in mass graves.

Winter Storm “Xynthia” Hit Europe Hard

Xanthia rages through Europe

The storm, “Xynthia” raised havoc in Europe’s west coastal areas. The high winds took down trees and electrical lines. It left 55 people dead as it made it’s way out of the area.

France was hit the hardest. It was a tropical cyclone that ripped through the coastal areas and in France leaving 45 people dead.

The storms aftermath has been declared as a national catastrophe. Many people drowned in the heavy flooding as the waters rose unexpectedly.

There are many people still without places to stay. They are concerned with getting these people into safe areas as the waters are still possibly rising.

Water backed up through toilets, got as high as the house gutters leaving people stranded on roof tops. Others were helped out of the area by boats and some were flown out.

There were about 1 million homes without electrical power on Sunday afternoon.

The storm was also felt in Spain, Portugal, Germany, Belgium and England.

Rain collapsed round Les Cayes onto the country’s southern peninsula. The civil safety faculty says a prison flooded and more than 400 prisoners were evacuated. City delegate Josephe Mary Yves Aurbour says the dead from Saturday’s storm involve two adults and a child killed when water rushed into their house and dusted them into a rain-swollen river. It’s still numerous weeks until Haiti’s rainy season typically starts. It also has been raining, but not as steely, within branches of the capital, whereas hundreds of thousands of civilians are living outside as soon as their houses were destroyed within the earthquake.

8.8 Magnitude Earthquake Rips Through Areas of Chili

At least 122 people have perished in an earthquake that hit the country on the northeastern side of the city of Concepcion and on the southwestern side of Chili’s capital, Santiago. It hit at 0634 GMT.

The area has been declared a “state of catastrophe” by the president Michelle Backelet.

The quake set off many tsumami alerts in areas of the Pacific Ocean.

This quake is the highest magnitude to hit Chili in 50 years.

In Santago, at least 13 people died and many buildings fell down. A 2 level parking garage fell flat to the ground smashing many cars parked in it.

A fire started at a chemical plant on the outer parts of Santago causing many people to leave their homes.

In Maule, 34 people have perished. There are many deaths being reported in the areas of O’Higgins in Biobio, Araucania and also in Valparaiso.

The newly elected president of Chili, Sebastian Pinera, figures the total of people who have perished to be 122. The number could go up.

At this point, Parral seems to have been hit the hardest.They are the closest to the epicenter.
