
Water rushed through the turbine hallway leaving many possibly trapped and possibly drowned. Rescue members are diving in the area searching for people who could still possibly be alive.
The transformer was under repair it is thought that it could have blown up during this time . The exact reason for the explosion is not known at this time.
Water built up in the pipes causing the spilling over of water at a rapid pace resulting in flooding of the turbine wall.
There are possibly 64 others trapped or have perished in the accident.
The area is being explored for survivors that could be entrapped. The area beneath the water is more difficult to explore and they are awaiting a robot to help out.
RusHydro, the proprietor of the plant, has told there is a elaborate 3-D mapping of the area workers should have been at the time and it will prove to be useful during the search.
There were two of the employees saved on Monday when rescue divers brought them out from under the turbine hall. They are lucky to be alive. As far as the remaining who are still missing, there is little hope of survival.
“It is unlikely that survivors will be found where the flooding happened,” Vasily Zubakin told Russian news agencies.
