    Two strong earthquakes hits South Asia

    6.6 magnitude earthquake hit near city of Ternate and 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit Hokkaidos coast. There is no reports of casualties so far. Japan was warned by Tsunami alert of 50cm and people where evacuated on higher grounds, kids in school went on schools roof, but warning was later canceled. A tsunami alert issued immediately after the tremor in the Moluccas islands was lifted by Indonesia’s meteorological agency when the feared wave never came. A tsunami forms when energy from an earthquake vertically jolts the seabed by several meters, displacing a huge volume of water. An earthquake off Indonesia triggered the 2004 Asian tsunami, which killed approximately 220,000 people across the Indian Ocean.
