A strong 6.8 magnitude earth quake has been recorded near the group islands of New Caledonia.
The earth quake occurred to the east of Noumea, atleast 420 kms away from the coast of Noumea.
As the earth quake occurred so deep in the water geological scientists suggest that it wouldn’t bring any harm.
No tsunami warnings have been sensed by the geological officials, nor there any drastic changes in the course of the sea around the island.
Coasts near to the quake hit area might receive tidal problems but wouldn’t cause much damage.
The choice of place of quake saved the people from possible ecological disturbance from it.
