Nocere – Earth Disasters

Savaged by powerful earthquake of magnitude 7.5, Gorontalo, a coastal town in of Sulawesi, was distressed by more aftershocks. With local residents worried of possible tsunami’s attacks, their fears were eased with authorities withdrawing warning shortly after issued.  However, US monitors continue to warn that the quake could create a destructive tsunami, calling for authorities to issue an immediate evacuation.

Thus far, it has been confirmed that two persons were killed in the earthquake, 37 injured, and 200 homes completely destroyed. Thousands of local residents are fleeing the area to avoid being victims of possible tsunami.
