    Earth Quake Hits Southern Iran

    In the southern parts of Iran, an earth quake  measuring at the order of magnitude of 4.9 caused mayhem Thursday.

    There were hundreds of people hurt by the incident but no comfirmation of any one who perished. About 100 individuals needed to be cared for in the hospital.

    Power was off and people ran out into the open streets in Bandar Abbas.

    Iran is accustomed to earthquakes. They dwell across a large fault line and often feel shudders.

    Most of the time, there is an earthquake every day in Iran. They are normally not major earthquakes, only mild tremors. They also tend to happen more so in areas of low inhabitants.

    In 2008 there were 7 individuals that perished in an earthqake. Then in 2003, the worse earthquake of all hit. 25,000 individuals perished in a 6.7 magnitude earthquake that took place in Bam.

    There is a big oil refinery located in Bandar Abbas that provides for the Iranian people.
