LRA
Uganda’s rebel force, the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), has long been known for their notorious cruelty towards achieving their motives. In recent news reported by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the rebels had attacked a village, which resulted in four deaths. One of the victims was a four-yr-old girl, while a nine-yr-old boy was abducted as well. Another two men that were killed had their hands and legs chopped off before being beaten to death, says a bishop in South Sudan.
Civilians were forced to seek refuge by fleeing into the forest, as LRA rebels looted and ransacked their homes. These people are destitute on food, water, basic sanitation and medical assistance. However, humanitarian aid workers are facing difficulties in reaching them due to poor security situation.
Central African Republic (CAR) and Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) have deployed troops to its border in an effort to restraint rebel’s activities.
