On a busy street of Iligan, southern Philippines, two bombs went off consecutively in two shops packed with Christmas shoppers. The twin blasts killed two, injuring at least another 47. Among the injured, two are still in critical conditions. Roger Alforque, witness of the blasts, told the press that the explosions sounded like powerful firecrackers. Both his daughter and himself were wounded, while his wife was knocked unconscious.
According to a report, the bombs were believed to be homemade, with nails packed in it. The bombs were placed at the baggage counters along the entrance of the stores. Police officials are still investigating, and have since listed two suspects that were caught on CCTV’ both were depositing their bags at the counter.
Police has since classified the attack as possible terrorists’ bombing, awaiting for further investigations.
