
Afghan forces stationing in Afghanistan
News and reports of fightings between the Afghan forces and the Taleban militants have been common since UN started their security mission in Afghanistan. According to military officials, Taleban had initiated the attack by killing three people who they accused of being government spies. From then onwards, Afghan forces returned fires via air raids. The Afghan forces were launching their attacks along areas where civilians resided, attributing to the fact that Taleban militants were taking refuge using civilian homes. Latest report states that 25 civilians and four Afghan forces were killed in the clash. Further investigations are on the way to reaffirm the total death toll.
It has always been an issue over civilian casualties, which caused much uproars from local leaders. Afghan president is scheduled to meet US President Barack Obama to further discuss the issue, whereby the former is expecting to bring across the topic of reducing civilian casualties.
