    Rival gangs clashed in a controversial prison within the Mexican state of Durango on Wednesday, deserting at  least  23 inmates dead. Army and federal troops with police were posted within the quell battling between gangs which burst out curtly as soon as breakfast at the jail housing 1,800 inmates, well again capacity, outside the city of Durango.

    It took 40 minutes for the protection officers to quell the conflicts, reportedly between members of the rival Gulf and Sinaloa drug cartels using makeshift weapons but none firearms. The prison was framed via army troops and police, as dozens of cousins of the prisoners gathered outside the facility nervously waiting for news of their loved ones. Durango and its neighboring states of Sinaloa and Chihuahua earn up a region of Mexico dubbed “The Golden Triangle” because of the size of marijuana, opium and heroin production behaved there.
