Nocere – Earth Disasters

The border linking both Thailand and Cambodia has always been an issue leading to much conflicts . Following the decision made by international court, Cambodia was given the rights over the authority and ownership of part of the shared border. However, the remaining area remains as a disputed zone between the two countries. Since then, the area that has yet to be allocated has been heavily guarded by soldiers from each side.

As the ownership of the area remains undecided, conflicts over the issue have sparked much clashes between the armies. In the recent clashes, twice that occurred on a single day, soldiers from both countries were seemed exchanging heavy fires. Officials from the Thai army responsed that they sustained casualties on their side. Both sides have pointed at each other of being responsible for initiating the firings.

Meetings held between representatives of both countries have not been fruitful thus far. Tension is expected to rise as the issue continues without a desired outcome.
