Stampede in Nigeria
According to a police official in Nigeria, there were 15 people killed and 31 injured. It is not sure if some of the deaths were also listed as injured to start with.
On Saturday, as an election rally in the oil-rich delta located in the southern parts of Nigeria, was ending, am officer started a stampede by firing his gun up towards the sky as people were leaving the event.
He was trying to break up the large crowds a bit.
It was a rather large crowd and a sad ending to the day that had gone so well.
The rally was comes as Nigeria is getting ready for the April elections.
President Goodluck Jonathan was at the rally but was not harmed.
