
Most roads in Pakistan are in bad condition and there are many accidents as a result. The buses are also in need or repair and many times over loaded with travelers.
The bus left Rawalpindi and was traveling to Skardu was held up approximately 10 hourrs due to road work being done on the roads they were traveling on. The trip usually take close to 22 hours.
Many of the riders on the bus were military personnel coming back from Punjab to Skardu after being on leave.
The bus is managed by Mushabroom Transportation Co. It departed Rawalpindi on Tuesday afternoon. The accident occured approximately 4 hours out of Skardu.
As of this time, none of the missing people that possibly perished in the rapid river have been found. Recovery personnel continue to search for them.
