Pakistan blast
The attack happened outside a Shia mosque near the central Kissa Khwani bazaar, northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar. It was reported that at least 27 was killed in the highly populated areas, while many were injured. The blast took off with a suspected car bombing, destroying surrounding buildings. Many were trapped under rubble, while bodies of the dead were slowly being recovered. Among the dead, a 12-year-old boy and a woman were found.
According to police officials, the bomb contained approximately 20-25 kg of explosive, and the design is believed to spread fire. Northwestern Pakistan has always been an attack-prone area, involving several clashes between the Shia and Sunni Muslims. Over the past decades, thousands of militants from both their community have already been killed and majority was reported to be of Sunni Muslims.
