Nigerian army was able to dismiss the demonstrators by firing shots and using tear gas. Demostrators and civilians could be seen fleeing from the scene to avoid being hurt. The protest was eventually called off with interventions from political leaders.
This protest definitely came as an alarm for the Nigerian government to consider a better election system in the coming general election.
