
Shortly after the assaults, Iraqi armies violently dispersed the crowds away from the wreckage by firing numerous shots at the innocent citizens. Raging and furious citizens showed their anger against the armies for not protecting the citizens by throwing stones and bottles at the forces. Officials have deduced that the assault was targeting areas with majority of Shi’ite Muslims. Al Qaeda and guerillas from Sunni Muslims frequently employed this method of aiming Shiite Muslim attempting to arouse those narrow-minded and create chaos inside the country. The government was accused of bearing the responsibility for Wednesday’s assault due to their poor security inside the country.
Apart from the major assaults which killed more than 41 on Wednesday, there were other assaults in Hurriya and Hor Rijab, which caused 2 people and 5 people dead, respectively.
