With much strongholds being wiped out, al-Qaeda militants are struggling to secure their remaining territories. In the northern region of Iraq, where much conflicts and attacks have been covered in recent news, militants of the al-Qaeda group are planning their moves in securing their strength in the region. The terrorists are now shifting their attention to key installation, such as the oil installation.

According to officials, personnels deployed on duty to the oil installation were attacked by a bombed planted deliberately in a parked car. As many as eleven policemen were killed in the blast, while many other civilians were wounded as well. Officials are still on the verge of confirming the total death toll in this bomb blast, which they expect the number to be higher.

As the al-Qaeda militants continues to struggle to retain their territories in the northern region, security forces are expected to face much more esistance to deter the former from achieving their objectives.
