In fact, Hamza was neither clash-prone nor a conflict zone, while it is believed to have been chosen by attackers ascribing to the fact that the area was crowded and packed with civilian during the trading day in the market. Thus, a successful attack could mean higher casualty rate upon execution. In fact, the blast claimed lives of at least 12 people and injured another 40. Among the casualties, some are believed to be police personnels.

The blast was far more deadly than any other attacks that have occurred some weeks ago.
