Some 30 people were wounded when acidic chemicals were thrown to a bunch of shoppers in a very famous shopping zone in business district of Mong Kok in Hong Kong, officials said on Saturday. Five months ago a similar attach was happened in the locality, in which the acid was bottled and splashed to the crowd. Firefighters rushed to the scene and washed away the victims’ bodies’ residual chemicals and sent them to the nearest hospitals for proper treatment. Despite the assault had caused injuries to some 30 citizens, there were no victims badly wounded.

Officials had collected the acidic liquid and sent to a research lab to ascertain the acid type. Police said that they will determine whether the 2 attacks were made by the similar person and he will be accused of intentionally causing atrocious physical injury which in turn maybe charged to a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.

The famous business district of Mong Kok is a very popular shopping zone which attracts enormous number of both local and overseas tourists every day particularly during weekends. Similar incident which happened in December at the same place caused 46 innocent people suffered from severe organic burns when acid was splashed at the crowd.
