    A ferry boat that had sank in Bangladesh..
    As the ferry was traveling the Meghna River in Bangladesh’s Brahmanbaria district, it hit a cargo boat that had sank a few days ago but had not yet been removed.

    The over loaded ferry was excessively damaged and as of now, it is known that 27 died. Their  bodies have been found, 15 were women. There are many still missing.

    The boat was carrying approximately 100 people across the river. Some were on top while others were inside the ferry when it capsized. It was a double decker.

    Passengers on top of the ferry were more likely to have survived. Many jumped off into the water and ones that could swim,  swam to the shoreline.

    Passengers inside the ferry were trapped and unable to get out and off the sinking boat. Many inside the boat were women and children.

    Rescue efforts are under way to try and find all the missing passengers. Families await on the shoreline for news of their loved ones.

    Ferry accidents are common in Bangladesh. There are hundreds yearly. The rules aren’t obeyed, the boats are over loaded. There have been approximately 4000 deaths estimated because of ferry accidents since 1977.

    A Helicopter Crashes in NE India Taking 17 Lives

    The helicopter went up in a blaze as it landed in a distant north eastern mountainous area in India. 17 people on board the helicopter died.

    There were another 6 riders, including the pilot and a co-pilot that were wounded in the crash.

    It happened on Tuesday afternoon around 2:00.

    The helicopter was being landed on the helipad at the airport. Somehow how the helicopter missed the pad and went up in a blaze once it did land.

    The accident is under investigation.

    The helicopter is the property of the state run Pawan Hans company which has daily flights between Tawang and Guwahati.

    Canal Cracks in Mexico Allowing Sewage to Flood into Homes
    In the area of San Isidro and La Providencia which are located in the Mexican state of Mexico, possibly more then 200 dwellings were flooded with raw sewage when the canal cracked.

    It’s lucky that no one was killed. There are around 500 people that live in the area that was flooded.

    There were three children that were hurt. One was hurt slightly when he tried to get out of his house. The other two were taken to the hospital showing signs of hypothermia.

    The break in the canal is close to 30 meters long. It is at the 27.5 kilometer marker of the Puebla HWY. The crack is letting out raw sewage at approximately 6,000 cubic meters per second and is a result of the heavy rainfall the region has been receiving.

    It’s anticipated that the incident was going to be under control by Sunday night. The highway was to be close Sunday and maybe reopened on Monday.

    Boat sinks off the Italian Coast
    Off the coastal area of Italy in the Mediterranean Sea, a boat on which 200 people were traveling tipped over and went down. They were about 39 miles on the western side of Lampedusa which is in the Maltese waters.

    At this time there are around 150 people that haven’t been found.

    The Italian Coast Guard and the Maltese authorities are working together to try and find the missing people. The Maltese authorities are in charge of the operation.

    In the early hours Wednesday, rescue boats started arriving to help in the search but the dark and lousy weather hindered the operation.

    Since the rescue began, there have been 48 people found, but they are still searching for additional people.

    It is thought that the people who were on board the boat were of Tunisian descent.

    There were 33 people on board the  U.N. airplane that crashed in the Congo on Monday. Of the 33, 32 died.

    The airplane is owned by the MONUSCO which is a U.N. mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

    It was during the early afternoon hours on Monday that the plane was trying to land at the Kinshasa airport. They were returning from a trip to Goma which is located in central Africa.

    At the time, the airport was experiencing strong storms and 23mph winds.

    On board the airplane that perhaps missed landing due to the high winds, were U.N. workers. There were 5 of the passengers who worked for other agencies.

    Korean Tourist Bus Flips on New Hampshire Interstate

    There were 23 of the 25 Korean tourist on board wounded as their bus, traveling from Montreal to Boston, flipped over on Monday evening a little pass 8pm.

    The roads were lightly snow covered, and it was foggy out. There were numerous accidents on the roadways.

    The driver lost control of the bus close to the town of Littleton. They were in the western parts of New Hampshire traveling along on  interstate 93.

    The accident happened not far from the border of Vermont.

    After flipping the bus settled on its side in the center of the interstate.

    There were 5 members of the tour group suffering from serious wounds. Most of the wounded riders on the bus were taken to hospitals and could be released anytime soon. There weren’t any of the passengers with life threatening injuries.

    The bus of tourist had traveled to Montreal after a stop in New York.

    The accident is the third accident in the Northeast in a months time. Another accident in New York resulted in 15 deaths.

    Brazil storms leave many homeless
    Intense rainfall that began in the southern parts of Brazil on Friday has left ten individuals dead and over 8000 have no homes to return to. By Monday, the rain had basically left the area leaving a mess behind it.

    Two of the individuals that died were found underneath mud from a landslide that hit the area on Sunday. The landslide was a result of the intense rainfall that had been beating down on the area.

    In Parana, over 23,000 individuals were suffering from the amount of rainfall and there are 8 or more that have died. 453 individuals have been left without homes to return to. Over 2,700 dwellings were ruined by the rainfall.

    Landslides cut off some of the larger roadways in the state. They did succeed in clearing a few of the roadways by Sunday evening.

    One person died in the next door state of Santa Catarina. The person was driving a vehicle that went off the road and into the river on Saturday. They did not pull the vehicle out until Monday. The driver of the car had drowned.

    According to authorities, there were 7 individuals in Rio do Sul that died and there are 2 individuals still listed as not found. One is in Rio do Sul and the other is in Parana.

    14 People Die on New York Tour Bus

    As the bus had been traveling along the New England Thruway, located in the Bronx, it flipped over. The accident happened at about 1030GMT time on Saturday.

    The bus flipped and scooted on it’s side until it ran into a light pole tearing off the roof of the bus.

    There are 14 individuals who died in the accident and another 10 wounded.

    Of the wounded, 6 are in serious condition. There were possibly 31 people riding on the bus at the time, maybe more.

    When the bus hit the light pole, ith went clear through the bus from the front to the back.
