    Australia wildfires death toll rises

    What has been the major concern of Australian Prime Minister Kevin has now came to reality – rising death toll. Rescuers are on the verge of rescuing victims of the wildfires, which they revealed at least 173 people have died and hundreds more injured. Despite firefighters’ efforts to contain the spread, many areas are still blazing with uncontrolled fire.

    A strong police task force comprising of 100 police officers have been established to investigate the fire. Task force phoenix will be assisting the state’s coroners’ office, fire and health authorities to investigate all fire related death. Residents residing along fire prone areas have been informed to keep alert on possible arson.

    Death Toll of Australia wildfires to rise

    Few days from the last report of Australia wildfires, officials are now concerned over the rise of death toll with fire ravaging across Victoria state. Having killed 131 people, firefighters are trying whatever they could to contain the fire.

    Troops and emergency have been deployed to around 25 affected areas, in which two are urban areas. Reports of entire town being destroyed and suspected arson are on the rise. Officials estimated an area of 3,000 sq km has been affected. Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has since warned the public to prepare for worst scenario yet to come.

    Firefighters have reported successful control of fire over certain areas, attributed to drop in temperature. However, two fires in northeastern region of Melbourne remain as major threats.

    Wildfires in Australia caused 35 dead

    Australia wildfires are savaging through state of Victoria, taking away 35 lives. The death toll is expected to rise as fire continues to blaze. Australian emergency crew comprising of 30,000 firefighters have been deployed to tackle the major fire threats.

    As firefighters are battling to put off the fire, there have been reports of entire towns being destroyed in severe cases. Officials confirmed that at least 100 homes have already been destroyed and another 14,000 have their electricity cut off. Victoria premier has agreed to the federal government’s suggestion – into brining in the army.

    With temperatures continue to soar; forecasters are expecting the hot weather to linger for sometimes. The temperatures for recent days have been around 47C.

    California wildfires, 50,000 Made Homeless

    Recent wildfires across several parts of Los Angeles, southern California, are burning through dry forests, gradually hitting suburban areas. In the event of evacuation passed down by the authority, 50,000 were made homeless. Of the 800 homes that were either burnt or abandoned, some were reported to be multi-million dollars mansions.

    Fire officials are trying their best to contain the blaze, with more than 1,200 fire fighters working hard to minimize the spread. However, it was reported that the fire has already scorned 22,000 acres (8,900 hectares) of land and are soon taking up another 10,000 acres (4,000 hectares). Further attempts to contain the fire faced difficulties, with Fierce Santa Ana winds fanning the blazes at up to 80 mph (130 km/h).

    Though wildfires are rather common in southern California, many officials have commented that this is one of the worst in decades. California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has since declared states of emergency in four counties: Orange, Riverside, Los Angeles and Santa Barbara.

    Deadly Mozambique fire

    At least 32 people have die in bush fire which destroyed homes and 16 000 hectares agricultural land. The fires, which began on Monday, have been driven across the region by strong winds. The governor, Alberto Vaquina, said the government is providing tents and other assistance to those affected.

    Fast moving fire in Goleta forced 2000 people to leave they homes. Across the state there is 60 active fires. Government Arnold Schwarzenegger ordered 400 soldiers from California Nation Guard to help firefighters in battling fire. One volunteer firefighter have die Thursday while working as spotter. Not only people are threatened by this fire, but also animals are fighting for they lives. Deers are running in front of fire, domestic pets are also leaving they homes and some Condor chickens are lost forever. Some people have see beer, rodents, squirrels running from woods.
