There have been at least 13 people reported to have died and another 72 that developed sickness from the contaminated cantaloupes. The fruit was grown in the state of Colorado.
It is possible that 3 more people died from eating the cantaloupe. There have been 18 states that have reported finds of one of the 4 types of listeria found in the cantaloupes. 13 people that have been reported to have died, of those 13, there were 4 in New Mexico, 2 in Colorado, 2 in Texas and one in each of the following states, Kansas,Nebraska, Maryland, Missouri and Oklahoma.

There have been reports of listeria infections in many locations and from California to Virginia.
It is possible that more infections will show up as it can take four or more weeks for symptoms to show up. There can be a long incubation time which is a problem. If someone ate the contaminated melons 1 to 2 weeks ago, they could still not show symptoms for a while yet.
Pregnant women and the elderly are most vulnerable to suffering more from the infection if they get it. They have a weaker immune system which will not fight off the infections as good as others.
If you suspect you have any of the contaminated melons, it is advised that you dispose of them quickly. Any place they may have touched needs to be cleaned and sanitized completely.
