    Train kills 12 people
In Castelldefels, a small town that lies on the south side of Barcelona, a group of approximately 30 people were crossing the tracks. They had just departed a train that had stopped in the town. The accident occurred somewhere between 11:30pm and midnight on Wednesday.

As they were crossing, another train came through the area on it’s way to Barcelona. The train hit the group of people killing 12 and injuring possibly more then 14. Most of the people were going to the Fiesta de San Juan. That is the celebration of the shortest night of the year. It was taking place on the beach at Castelidefels.

They were walking across the tracks instead of the over head bridge due to the bridge being closed during remodeling at the train station. There was an underground passage that could be used and was open when the accident occurred.

As the train was passing through town, it was traveling at full speed. When it hit the group of people, it sent parts of bodies everywhere.

An investigation is being done into the accident. It is being said the so far it looks like the people used poor judgment crossing the tracks.
