    The northeast is experiencing rain fall that exceeds the amount they have ever had  since records of precipitation have been kept.

    There have been hundreds of residents leaving their homes as flood waters  moving in were knocking out area sewage plants and causing major over-crowding on main roads. On Wednesday, the eastern coastal highways were a maze of roundabout ways and road blocks.

    The rain came down for 3 days before it began to slow down to a trickle.

    The weather people put out a warning about the most dangerous of the floods would be spread from Maine to New York. This was proclaimed while the rivers were preparing to crown for the second time within a month.

    Rhode Island is a state along the coast area of the country and it was receiving the worst damage and major floods. They are going through the worst flooding in over 100 years for their area.

    Amtrak trains discontinued service due to water over the tracks.

    Unnecessary state crews received the day off on Rhode Island. Schools and business’s were asked to close.

    Residents were asked not to flush toilets and to not wash laundry since sewage plant was malfunctioning. They were also asked to stay off roads.

    According to the Governor of Rhode Island, it is the the worst flood anyone living in the state has ever experienced.

    An emergency was declared for Rhode Island by President Barack Obama Tueday evening. It will allow the state to receive federal aid for disaster relief.

    Families Await News of 123 Trapped Miners

    Rescue operations are under way at the Wangjialing mine located in Shanxi province of China.

    The first reports released stated that there were over 150 miners trapped but the numbers have been lowerd to 123.

    As water poured into the mine, there were 261 miners in the mine. 138 of them were able to get out in time.

    The mines in China are considered to be very deadly. There are many accidents every year resulting in death. The majority of the time, the accidents are a result of not following the safety rules of the mine. It could be from lack of ventilation or not proper fire safety equipment.

    The mine in this accident is about 70 square miles in size.

    26 Die in Early Morning Attack

    In Pakistan, an assault that occured before dawn has taken the lives of 4 Pakistani military men and 21 possible rebels.

    It all began in the village of Kalaya, which is located in the North parts of Orakzai. It was at a check area that the assault occured.

    Security forces lashed out back against the rebels and recovered the check area.

    United States has pressured Pakistan to take an aggressive action against the rebel strongholds which are found in South Waziristan and Bajaur. These are only two of the 7 different plagued tribal areas located along the Afghan border.

    The area of Orakzai was once known as the base location for Pakistani Taliban leader Hakimullah Mehsud. It is thought that he was killed in the early months of this year. The Taliban is not admitting he has died.

    The Taliban has been hit by the Pakistan forces with a recent series of airstrikes that are aimed at receding Taliban combatants and their commandants.

    10 Die in Explosions in the Helmand Province

    The dead are all civilians. They died as a suicide bomb was set off which was intended  to hit an Afghan army convoy as it crossed a bridge.

    There were 7 others injured in the explosion that happened in the Gereshk area.

    The province of Helmand is the center point of a progressive movement by Nato led military units against the Taliban rebels.

    The suicide bomb was set off by a three wheeled motor cycle killing 10 citizens in a very congested area of the Gereshk area.

    The bomb aimed at the convoy did not activate until the convoy was across the bridge.

    This is a festive time of year there. There were many roadside vendors and crowds of people rejoicing Nowruz which is the New Year celebration party.

    The Most Pricey Storm Ever to Hit Melbourne

    The storm hit 2 weeks ago but the insurance claims continue to come in. This storm is approaching the category of one of the top ten storms in Australia as far as recovery cost in the last 50 years.

    The residents of Australia have sent in 79000 claims totaling $491 million  and they are expecting the amount to surpass $700 million dollars.

    If this is the case, the storm will pass the amount paid out in 2007 of $707 million dollars. A hail storm in 1986 is at this time the most pricey storm. They began keeping accounts on record of storms starting in 1967.

    The only other high claim times then storms are during the Ash Wednesday and Black Saturday with bush-fires.

    The storm only took 2 hours to cause the havoc. It is a unusual occurrence to be able to declare a catastrophe in only a few hours as that. There are strict rules that have to be followed in order to claim it as a catastrophe.

    Nicholas Schofield, a person speaking for Allianz, an insurance company in Australia, reported that this storm would be one of the top 5 most pricey storms for Australia. It could even be in one of the top 3.

    He also reported that there are a lot of claims for water damage but he feel that most of them will be for hail damage.

    At Least 8 Die in Iraq Blast

    Sticky bombs they are called because they can be attached to the bottom of a vehicle without the occupants having knowledge of it.

    The bombs were attached to the underneath of two different mini buses containing passengers.

    The bombs exploded as the buses were traveling on the main road entering the town of Babil. Babil is located 40 miles on the south side of Baghdad, the capital of Iraq.

    The blast went off within 5 minutes of each other.

    There were 8 people that perished in the blast and another 11 wounded.

There hundreds of people have been murdered in sectarian hostility in the environs in the past few months. A dusk-to-dawn curfew has been enforced by the Nigerian soldiers throughout the habitation of Jos since January, but still population are being brutally murdered. In the current hostility, onlookers declare Muslim herders disguised as combatants assailed a predominantly Christian settlement putting to death more than a dozen population, mostly women and children. The attackers smacked at after dark and reported employed machetes to butcher their victims before destroying homes. Survivors declare some of their family members are still missing. The killings are trusted to be connected to a feud between the nomadic Muslim gathering Fulani and the Berom, who are Christian farmers.

    24 Die In Nepal Mountain Road Bus Crash

    A bus traveling along a mountain road in Nepal swerved off the road and ended up in the river below.

    It happened as the bus was traveling through the western part of the country about 250 miles on the west side of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal.

    There are at least 24 known to have died in the crash. Many more were hurt including  the driver. There are 9 additional passengers that have not yet been found.

    According to rescuers, the missing could still be trapped in the bus, or they could be under the fast moving water or possibly they were just swept on down the river.

    The roads in Nepal are in ill repair that the buses have to travel along through winding  mountain roads. They are also usually very busy which leads to a possibility of accidents happening.
